As an artist (SMJ Artist) I love to experiment, this painting is huge for me, massive in fact and a t least two inches deep in places. I worked with a soft sculpture medium and also added a few techniques I had learned in sculpture to create depth and a touch-ability to the work itself.
My Mother took one look at it and its now on her wall! so I didn't get to sell it, but Mum deserves whatever she wants and I am fine with that. What I learned from both the process and the eventual execution of this work was that I love sculpting as much as, with the same passion as, my paintings and am currently creating a way for me to combine both skills to give me a new series of artworks to exhibit soon.
I've been absent from this blog because I have been all over the place int he last twelve months. Living in the North West for a short while as I needed to be close to a member of the family during their crisis and now down in Devon sofa surfing in luxury as I care for a friends summer residence, but my heart belongs in Harlech.
I think it always will.
I am returning to Harlech shortly and once again I will be posting the beauty of the place and encouraging others to come to visit one of the most unspoiled areas in Wales.
In the meantime...look out for me, I am setting my world up to travel around the whole of Britain in an adventure beyond all adventures, I am going to Walk my Talk.
